If you're squimish don't look!!

Have you ever seen such a disgusting creature??

When we were at Rena's house for the party this weekend, her husband found this bug on the golf course.

We thought since we were on the Dugway Proving Ground base, that it might be a mutant creature, created from all of the chemicals there on the base. It looks like a combination of a wasp, a grasshopper and a gigantic ant. But...

It turns out that it's not so rare.  It lives here in the West and it's called a Jerusalem Cricket.  They're nocturnal, so that's why we don't see too much of them.  I hope I never see another one, once is enough.

Two-Minute Fudge

This fudge is so easy.

1 can sweetened condensed milk
3 cups of chocolate chips

First, mix ingredients together well in a glass bowl, cook in the microwave for 1 minute, stir well.

Then, microwave for an additional minute.

If the chocolate chips are completely melted, you're done! If not microwave for 30 seconds to 1 minute more.  Mine was done in two minutes.

Next, pour into a buttered 9x9 glass dish or into a 9x9 dish that has been lined with tin foil and lightly sprayed. It's ready to cut in about 1 hour.

There are hundreds of ways to make this recipe into different flavors.

Today I used 2 cups milk chocolate chips and 1 cup andes mint chips to make mint fudge. Yum

I also made another batch with 3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips and I added in almonds and marshmallows

You can use any combination as long as you have 3 cups of chips total.

Spooky Family Time

We went to the HAUNTED WOODS last
NIGHT with our
three older kids.

Jordyn was clinging to us

the entire time.

There were spooks everywhere.

We went into the corn maze and got lost for about an hour.

Kylie stayed at Grandpa Wilson's house to "babysit" him, because we thought the whole thing might be too scary for her, but next year we'll bring her along and go earlier because there was so much more to do besides the haunted forest.  It was pretty cheap too...for $10 per person you got an unlimited pass to go to the Haunted Forest, Huge corn maze, train rides, pony rides, wagon rides, goard tossing, petting zoo, a really long fun slide (that you slide down on burlap sacks) that was fun, I tried it too. There was a lot more that we didn't even get to see. We're definately going there next year!!

Super FUNNY Mom Song

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AGViouBPNIU

I'm pretty sure I've said most of these "mom sayings" to my kids. Or I've heard my own mom say them to me.

Soup...perfect for Halloween

I made this soup a couple of days ago, and My family (who doesn't usually love soup...gobbled it down.)

Chicken Enchilada Soup

1 lb. chicken breast thawed
1 10 oz can mild red enchilada sauce
2 cans chicken stock
2 cans of Muir Glen, fire roasted tomatoes or Diced Rotel Tomatoes
2 tsp chopped garlic
1 bay leaf
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 large onion, chopped
1 bunch cilantro, chopped
1 package of frozen corn
sour cream
grated cheese
tortilla chips

Put all of the ingredients into your crock pot, except for sour cream, cheese and tortilla chips.  Cook for about 6 hours. After a couple of hours, chop up the chicken into bite size pieces. About 1 hour before eating add in 1/2 cup sour cream.  Serve with sour cream, cheese and chips.  ((If you want it to be a little heartier)) add in 1 can black beans and 1/2 cooked brown rice.

Girls day out

It's been years since we've been miniature golfing, in fact this was Miss Ky's first time.

Miss Jordyn, so cute.

No boys allowed

My three girls

Miss Ky, thought elves lived in this little house

."We had a lot of fun, Heather won the game with a score of 61, then Kylie got upset - and she said " I wanted to win" so we said "Hey Kylie you got the most points with a score of 110" so she said "Yay, I'm a winner
